What You Intend to Bring to the Board representation

With my vast experience in community engagement, sponsors/donors’ engagement, my candidature will bring the following to the Coop:

  • Members mobilization through awareness creation of the Care Coop and the available products. Sometimes there are no specific people to market Care Cooperative in member organizations, I feel it would be important to have specific people who could be focal point persons in member organizations so that these can be sharing information widely so that more staff join the Coop.
  • Products marketing, we need people to speak about Care Coop as brand ambassadors – the Coop can invest little resources in ensuring that these brand ambassadors are branded with either caps and corporate shirts and through them, other staff not yet with Care Coop can be attracted. I know that Care Coop has already invested in online platforms for information dissemination, however, I strongly feel that we still need to do more with regards to new member recruitment and sharing of information and available loan products.
  • Ensuring existing members are engaged through creation of interactive platforms where members rights, privileges and restrictions are shared. Here, I will support the reviving of family fun days as these events helped to create awareness to members, they were used as platforms for interaction between members, the board and management including the Coop staff. This will also be used as a platform to explain the types of membership including how these types of membership allows them have access to different opportunities i.e. rights to shareholding, voting at AGMs etc.
  • Support the great initiatives introduced by the outgoing Board under the able leadership of the Board Chairperson. Here, I wish to recognize the fact that through this great leadership, our balance sheet has grown close to 150 million, I have seen issues of corporate governance being implemented – where there is separation of powers between the board and management. With the growth of Care Coop, it is imperative that operational functions remain with the management team while the board focuses on providing oversight and giving direction. Job well done to the outgoing board!
  • Continue supporting with any corporate governance initiatives.
  • Provide oversight support with employment code regarding staff welfare using my professional expertise of Human Resources Management.
